Doberdol & the Route Toward Koci Peak
The Albanian sections begin at Guesthouse Doberdol, at 1,740 meters. From here, the route climbs Koci Peak, opening views over the Gashi River — a strict nature reserve recognised in 2017 as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its ancient beech forests.
Ali Qela Pass — the Kosovo–Albania Border
The route continues to Ali Qela Pass, at 2,275 meters — the actual Kosovo–Albania border crossing point, reached entirely on skins. An optional side climb to Maja e Bardhë (2,426m) gives views of Mount Gjeravica, before a long descent into Zalli i Rupes.
